Mio Tattoo

Photo Manipulation

I enhanced the photo of my brother and applied tattoo on his body. I got the idea from this tutorial. This is the original photo:

I don't know how to deal with the hair that's why I just burned it thoroughly, resulting to a bad effect on the size of his head. Hope you could give me some advice. :)

The tattoos came from here and here.

Steps:
1.) Cut out the body from background. Use contract extraction and little feather.
2.) Make black background
3.) Add Adjustment Layers: Curves, Brightness/Contrast (2x), Photo Filter (brownish), Hue/Saturation (Decrease Saturation)
4.) Use Burn and dodge tool around edges to intensify blending.
5.) Import tattoos, rescale, mask, add little noise, 60% opacity.
6.) Brush with Red, "Color" blending mode to make it a little fresh.

Romeo - Vector Art for My Dad

Vector Art

My very first "official" vector art of a person. And in this case, it's my dad's. I didn't know I was not doing vector art until I heard of such a thing as "vexel." Now I know the difference. Usually, vector arts are done through Adobe Illustrator, but it can still be done through Photoshop with less ease. This art took me around 4 hrs or more. This is for my dad, I hope you like it!

Crystal Clear

I made this today through Photoshop CS5

I attempted to tweak this tutorial just a little bit, but then I came up with a whole new concept.

Credits:

Steps:
1.) Gradient background - 3 different shades of blue
2.) Made the text "Crystal Clear" using the font "Palatino", colored it blue
3.) Applied blending effects: Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Bevel and Emboss, Contour
4.) Put the water drops texture to the layer above the background, below the text. Set to multiply.
5.) Put another water drops texture layer above the text, applied masking, only to the text. Set to overlay.
6.) Add stars shine using polygon shape tool (stars), set to soft light

The Land of the Rising Sun 2011

This was inspired by the artworks I featured in my last post. I hope you like it.

For the commemoration of what happened to Japan on March 11, 2011 - A disastrous devastation of Japanese dreams by the wrath of nature. An 8.9 magnitude earthquake, a series of tsunami hampering from their shores through their cities, and nuclear plant explosions, all happening in a 3-days time. Let us all lend them a helping hand. Let us all pray for world peace.
